Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak is objecting to posts on social media that accused local law enforcement officers on motorcycles of speed trapping.

"As Sheriff Kozak said, motor units from the Cheyenne Police Department and the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office are out working traffic enforcement. Contrary to the post on Cheyenne Community Connections, they are not “speed trapping.”
Over the summer, you can expect to see the motor units working on Red Light traffic enforcement. The goal is to make our intersections safer and get people to obey traffic control devices. But don’t speed, because we’ll stop you for that, too."
One such comment on the page Tuesday morning warned of '"Speed trap on college by the truck stops.'"
Another post--which the sheriff's office re-posted--warned of "Cops on motorcycles speeding trapping downtown on lincolnway":
Cheyenne Police, meanwhile, while not commenting on ''speed trapping'' did post on their Facebook page about motorcycle units doing traffic enforcement:
''This morning, our Motor Unit is out conducting high-visibility enforcement to remind drivers to slow down and stop at red lights🚦🏍️ We’re working to keep our roadways safe — especially as motorcycle season picks up.
The team is also gearing up for the Motorcycle Safety Seminar this Saturday, May 31, at Cheyenne Hills Church from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This free event is hosted in partnership with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol. We will offer riding tips, safety checks, live demos, and skill sessions for riders of all levels. Come join us!''
