Laramie County Sheriff’s K-9 Takes One More Bite Out of Crime, Captures ‘Most Wanted’
Another fugitive on the Laramie County Sheriff's Office's "10 Most Wanted" list is behind bars thanks to soon-to-be-retired K-9 Hilde.
According to a booking sheet, deputies were called to a "family verbal" at 418 Ave. D on Monday, Aug. 7, and confirmed that 29-year-old Cheyenne resident Jordon Nicklos Lucero, who was being sought on a Laramie County District Court warrant for probation violation, was inside.
Deputies gave Lucero orders to come out, but he didn't, and they started clearing the residence.
According to a department Facebook post, Hilde found Lucero hiding in the back bedroom and he was subsequently arrested on the felony warrant.
"Hilde will be retiring tomorrow and wanted to take one more bite of crime," the post reads.
On Tuesday, Hilde and her handler, Sgt. Gilmore, and Deputy Wright were branded for capturing Lucero.
The LCSO says it should be noted that Charles Swank, who's being sought on a warrant for violating his probation on an original charge of possession of methamphetamine, ran from the scene.
In addition to Swank, the LCSO continues to look for Bryon Edwards, who's been on the list since it was first published on Facebook on June 14, David Hernandez, who was added to the list on July 10, Carl Coons and Abby Delf, who were added to the list on Aug. 1, and Anthony Estrada, Laura Springer, and Christopher White, who were added to the list on Aug. 4.
Edwards is wanted for violating his probation on an original charge of strangulation of a household member.
Hernandez is wanted for felony theft and eluding.
Coons is wanted for strangulation of a household member.
Delf is wanted for failing to appear on an original charge of taking a controlled substance into a penal institution.
Estrada is wanted for domestic battery - third offense.
Springer is wanted for failing to appear on an original charge of felony theft.
And White is wanted for aggravated assault and battery - threaten with a weapon.
