A 40-year-old Cheyenne man is facing charges, including a felony charge, after allegedly hitting a vehicle and driving away.

According to a booking sheet, Anthony Michael Cordova was arrested at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy contacted him at his residence.

The deputy says Cordova told him that he was the driver the deputy was looking for from a hit-and-run crash that had occurred the previous night, and that he had decided to make contact with law enforcement in an effort to mitigate the criminal charges.

The deputy says Cordova caused more than $1,000 worth of damage to the victim's vehicle.

Cordova was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with felony property destruction, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, and duty to stop, a misdemeanor.
