Cheyenne Police Release Details On Hardware Store Parking Lot Robbery

The Cheyenne Police Department has released the names of three suspects arrested in connection with a Wednesday armed robbery at a local hardware store.

According to a news release from CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas, the suspects are all 18-year-old Cheyenne residents. They are Prometheus Hurtado [above middle], Liam Adkins [above left], and Keegan Potter [above right].

Farkas says police have also submitted a probable cause affidavit for a 17-year-old passenger as an accessory after the fact.

Robbery Started With Confrontation In Parking Lot

According to the release, police were called to the Ace Hardware parking lot at 3505 East Lincolnway at 3:06 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22. According to statements given to police, a male victim was sitting in his car when Hurtado and Potter came up to the driver's side and confronted him about an incident involving one of his friends. Police say the victim noticed that both teens were armed with guns.

Out of fear for his safety, the victim retrieved a gun from inside his vehicle. One of the teens allegedly reached through the driver's side window and took the victim's gun while pointing a firearm at him.

The release goes on to say "Hurtado and Potter returned to a red Ford Explorer, driven by Adkins, and fled the area. The 17-year-old passenger remained in the vehicle during the incident.

Officers obtained a description of the suspect vehicle and located it a short time later near Converse Avenue and Airport Parkway. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and the four occupants were detained without incident."

Police have recovered all firearms, and no one was injured.

The case remains under investigation.
