Another candidate for Mayor of Cheyenne will be announcing a run for the city's top office on the ''Weekend in Wyoming" program on Saturday at noon.

So far, two candidates have said they are running for mayor. They are state employee James Johnson and businessman Patrick Collins, who is also a former member of the Cheyenne City Council.

Current Mayor Marian Orr has not announced whether she will be running for re-election, but she did say in January that she "loves being mayor." Orr, who was elected in 2016, is the city's first-ever female mayor.

While candidates for state and local offices don't formally file their campaigns until May, it is common for candidates to announce plans to run well before then. James Johnson announced that he is running last fall, becoming the first to say he is running for mayor of Cheyenne in 2020.

''Weekend in Wyoming' is an interview/talk show program that runs every Saturday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on AM 650, KGAB.
