Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr says the capital city "continues to hit sales tax revenues out of the park."

The article says that while Orr "has a close relationship" with the Trump White House, she also feels the president has "waffled a bit."

The mayor announced at the beginning of November that her office would be closed due to COVID-19, although she had personally tested negative for the virus.

The mayor says she and her staff will be working remotely for now.

August sales tax collections in Cheyenne were up by two percent compared to the year before, according to newly-released figures.

The mayor said "Even without Cheyenne Frontier Days, our numbers were nearly identical to last year! Keep shopping and spending local, Cheyenne!"
