Several Incumbents And One Challenger Have Filed So Far
Collins and Aldrich will be running for second terms. Laybourn, Johnson, and White are long-time council members, although Johnson took some time off from his previous term on the council before running again in 2020.
Hixenbaugh will be running to become a first-term council member.
Candidates have until May 31 to file for the primary. Under Wyoming law, the offices of the mayor and city council are non-partisan, meaning candidates are not nominated by a political party.
Instead, the two top finishers in the primary advance to the November General election, assuming at least two candidates file for the office.
