Fourth of July Fireworks in Cheyenne: What You Need to Know
Cheyenne's annual fireworks show, presented by Cheyenne Frontier Days in partnership with the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County, will light up the skies over Frontier Park beginning at 9:35 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
As has been the case for several years now, Frontier Park will not be open as a viewing location, but CFD Chief Marketing Officer Nicole Gamst says the show "is designed to be visible from neighborhoods across Cheyenne."

For those wanting to get close to Frontier Park, the north end of Lions Park will be open as normal, however, Carey Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic at 3 p.m. and the south end of the park will only be open to foot traffic.
Why is Frontier Park No Longer a Viewing Location?
CFD CEO Tom Hirsig says having Frontier Park open for the fireworks show, which comes on the heels of producing the Laramie County School District 1 high school graduation ceremonies, puts another large park cleanup onto volunteers right before CFD.
"This is a very short window until the show for us," Hirsig told KGAB Radio.
Hirsig says they believe investing in high-flying fireworks that can be viewed from a distance is worthwhile for the community.
"Our hope is more people all over the community can see these," he said.
REMINDER: Fireworks Are Illegal in Cheyenne
As a reminder, the use of consumer fireworks within city limits is not allowed on private property, except for sparklers, smoke devices, and novelties.
Simply put, anything that explodes or leaves the ground, such as aerials, bottle rockets, fountains, and Roman candles, is illegal, and violators could be issued a citation and a possible fine.
To report illegal fireworks or concerns involving fireworks, residents can call police dispatch at 307-637-6525.
