The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says speed likely contributed to a single-vehicle rollover crash that left a 56-year-old Laramie County man dead.

The crash happened around 12:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at County Road 138 and County Road 203 (Chalk Bluff Road), about 10 miles west of Carpenter.

According to Public Information Officer Brandon Warner, the man was headed west on County Road 203 when he lost control of his car near the intersection of County Road 138 and rolled it.

Warner says the man, whose name the Laramie County Coroner's Office may release after the family has been notified, died at the scene.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased," said Warner.

This is the fifth reported fatal crash in Laramie County this year and the fourth since March 22nd's T-bone crash northeast of Carpenter that left a 12-year-old dead.
