Two Escape Cheyenne Kitchen Fire Saturday Afternoon

Two occupants of a home in the 3300 block of East 12th Street escaped a fire without serious injury late Saturday afternoon, according to a release from Cheyenne Fire Rescue.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the home and was out by the time firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:24 p.m., according to the release. Firefighters extensively checked the rest of the home but found no evidence of the fire spreading.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and a damage estimate has not yet been released.
