Cheyenne Man Arrested For Arson In Connection With Early Morning Blaze
A 40-year-old Cheyenne man has been arrested in connection with an early Monday morning fire that severely damaged a home and several campers.
The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. on Monday, May 11 in the 1000 block of Drew Court, according to Laramie County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Warner.
Warner says when it was reported, several campers and a home were already burning. Warner says investigators developed information that Bocephus Osman had started the fire.
Osman Arrested On Third-Degree Arson Charge
Osman was questioned about the blaze and subsequently arrested on charges of third-degree arson. Under Wyoming law, that is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a $5,000 fine or both.
Warner says the State Fire Marshals Office, Fire District#1 and the ATF helped with the investigation.
Warner says the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to call 307 633-4763.
As always, all suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
