Albany, Laramie Counties Reinstate Fire Restrictions

Both Albany and Laramie counties in southeast Wyoming have re-imposed fire restrictions following a stretch of very hot, dry weather.

Albany County Fire Restrictions

You can read the resolutions passed by Albany County here. That resolution reads in part . "That all outdoor fires, any discharge of any Explosives, Division 1.4 (common fireworks), or Division 1.3 (Display Fireworks) and the discharge of a firearm using incendiary or tracer ammunition are prohibited except as set forth below, in the unincorporated area of Albany County, Wyoming beginning on March 25, 2026 and ending no later than November 1, 2026 unless temporarily lifted or re-imposed by the County Fire Warden during that term;"

There are some exemptions, including burning trash between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., using charcoal, pellet, or propane grills, and several others.

The restrictions only cover unincorporated areas of the county. Federal lands and incorporated cities and towns are not included.

Laramie County Fire Restrictions

The Fish Creek Fire in Albany County on Tuesday night forced the evacuation of residents in a two-mile radius around Fish Creek Ranch and the Cherokee Park areas.
