
Firefighters Put Out Tuesday Blaze At Cheyenne Construction Site
No injuries are reported from a large structure fire Tuesday afternoon at a construction site on East Carlson Street In Cheyenne.
According to the City of Cheyenne, the blaze was reported at 3:35 p.m. at 2505 East Carlson. Cheyenne Fire Rescue rushed to the scene of the blaze with with "four fire engines, one ladder truck, one Battalion Chief, and one support unit, totaling 19 firefighters." according to a Facebook post.

Engine 5 arrived on the scene soon after, and firefighters saw heavy clouds of smoke and fire coming from the three story building, which was a planned apartment building,
Cheyenne Police closed Converse Avenue between Dell Range and Storey Blvd. as firefighters battled the blaze.
Fire Mostly Out By 5 p.m.
According to the City of Cheyenne: "Battalion Chief 1 (BC1) assumed incident command and, given the winds, access to the construction site, significant fire conditions, and immediate structural concerns, directed crews to employ defensive firefighting tactics. This approach prioritizes firefighter safety while aggressively containing and controlling the fire. Additional CFR units and further requests for mutual aid brought more than 50 firefighters to the scene."
The fire was mostly out by 4:56 p.m. but firefighters remained on the scene for quite some time. No injuries were reported and all workers at the construction site were accounted for.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The post thanked the following agencies for their help with the fire: American Medical Response (AMR), Laramie County Sheriff's Office, Laramie County Fire District #1, Laramie County Fire Authority, and Wyoming Air National Guard Fire Department, and the Laramie County Combined Communication Center.
Roads in the area of the fire were reopened by 5:30 p.m.
