Tuesday South Cheyenne House Fire Is Being investigated
Cheyenne Fire Rescue says a Tuesday afternoon fire in the 200 block of West 6th Street remains under investigation, and a cause and damage estimate have not yet been determined.
That's according to a CFR news release. According to the release, firefighters were called to the blaze at the small single-family home a little before 3:30 pm.
The fire was already well in progress, due in part to abundant fuel and strong winds. Firefighters fought the blaze from outside the home because they could not enter the home due to high heat and a lack of access.
The release goes on to say:
CFR would like to encourage all citizens to stay out of harm’s way when present at structure fires. Heavy smoke contains an extreme amount of dangerous carcinogens, wherein citizens can be overcome quickly by smoke inhalation and experience acute medical conditions.
The following divisions provided assistance: American Medical Response, Black Hills Energy, and Cheyenne Police Department.
