Police Release Video of Shots Being Fired in Northeast Cheyenne
The Cheyenne Police Department has released a video of Saturday morning's shots fired incident in northeast Cheyenne.
According to a department Facebook post, the incident happened between 1:15 a.m. and 1:25 a.m. in the area of Bradney Avenue and Kester Street, just southwest of Dildine Elementary School.
The video shows the occupant of a vehicle firing five consecutive shots into the air. The vehicle then turns left out of the camera's view and three more consecutive shots are heard.
Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says it is difficult to tell if it was the driver or a passenger who fired the shots and police have not been able to determine what kind of vehicle was being driven.
"Additional surveillance video might help us gather more details," Farkas told KGAB Radio. "Anyone with surveillance video is encouraged to contact us."
Farkas says shell casings were located in the road near the 4800 block of Kester Street and the 4100 block of Bradney Avenue, but it does not appear the shots hit anything.
"There are also no injuries reported at this time," she said.
It was just a few weeks ago on March 28 that police were dispatched to a report of shots fired near the 2500 block of East 12th Street, a case that is still under investigation.
Farkas says it is uncertain if the two incidents are related.
