Cheyenne Woman Arrested In Porch Piracy Investgiation

Cheyenne Police have announced the arrest of a 37-year-old Cheyenne woman for allegedly stealing packages from homes on three different occasions.

According to CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas, the case started on Sept. 30 when Officer Bolkovatz was sent to investigate a package theft in the 900 block of East 6th Street. The victim gave police doorbell camera footage showing a blonde woman driving a gray Chevy Trailblazer with a noticeable dent near the front wheel.

The woman had taken packages from the area of the front door of the home and then drove away.

Social Media Post Provides Leads For Investigators

The victim shared the doorbell camera footage on social media, generating several tips from the public, which helped with the investigation..

As the probe continued, police were able to connect two other package thefts, on Sept. 25 and 28, to the same suspect.

According to Farkas: Ofc. Bolkovatz used Flock Safety cameras to find a gray Chevrolet matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The license plate displayed in the photos was used to identify its registered owner, 37-year-old Erica White. At approximately 10:30 p.m. on September 30, the officer located White's vehicle in the parking lot of her workplace. White was found sitting inside the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

Farkas says the woman was booked into the Laramie County Jail, and the stolen items were found in her vehicle.
