A 33-year-old man was behind bars at last report following a high-speed chase and foot pursuit before Laramie County Sheriff's deputies were able to track him down on Wednesday night.

That's according to a post on the LCSO Facebook page.

According to the post, the incident started around 7:36 p.m. when deputies initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 2000 block of South Greeley Highway. But the suspect, later identified as Richard Yanez, refused to stop, heading north at a high rate of speed towards downtown Cheyenne.

Tire Spikes Were Deployed, But Yanez Allegedly Drove On Flat Tires

Tire spikes were used to flatten his tires, but he just kept driving until he crashed into two parked cars near Warren and 18th Street. He then took off on foot and was able to get away at first. But when deputies searched his car, they found his name and where he was staying.

The post then goes on to say:

At approximately, 10:00 pm, Deputies located and arrested Yanez for felony aggravated fleeing/eluding and felony property destruction along with additional misdemeanor charges. Thankfully, there were no injuries to bystanders or deputies during the pursuit.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Cheyenne Police helped the sheriff's office in the effort to apprehend Yanez, and there was a heavy law enforcement presence in the downtown area while the effort to catch him unfolded.

There’s a strange mind at work in Medicine Bow. Someone equal parts disturbed and delighted, scheming and laughing at the same time. And somehow, they want to pull you into the fun.
