Just when you thought it was safe to put your snow boots away and pull out your flip flops, another spring snowstorm is expected to hammer the Cheyenne area.

"Snow will start to fall Friday night and then continue basically through the weekend," said Meteorologist Chad Hahn with the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. "It might even linger into early next week depending on how quickly this thing gets out of here."

Hahn says Cheyenne could see 8 to 14 inches of snow and the I-80 summit could see one to two feet.

"The area that's going to be impacted mostly in our state from this storm is going to be across extreme southeast Wyoming, from basically Rawlins through Kimball, Nebraska," said Hahn. "As you go north up towards Wheatland and Torrington, they may only end up with 2 to 5 inches."

"It's one of the more slow moving low pressure areas that I've seen," added Hahn. "So impacts are really going to be pretty rough."

Motorists are urged to check the latest road conditions before heading out and delay travel if possible.
