
Red Flag Fire Warning Posted For Areas Of Southeast Wyoming Through Saturday
UPDATE 4 p.m.; The Cheyenne National Weather Service has now extended the Red Flag Fire Warning. That's according to a decision packet issued by the NWS, which includes the following:
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 AM Wednesday through 8 PM Saturday evening. ◆ Daily minimum relative humidities between 10 and 15%. Poor overnight recoveries. ◆ Record warmth will contribute to abnormally dry conditions. ◆ Wind gusting up to 40 to 45 mph daily.
Original Article: The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has posted a Red Flag Fire Warning for parts of southeast Wyoming until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
At last report, the warning area included Cheyenne, but not Laramie.
The agency posted the following on it's website:
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Tuesday across extreme southeastern Wyoming and the southern Nebraska Panhandle, primarily along the I-80 corridor. While relative humidity values may not be critically low, gusty winds will aid in fire spread.
