Stay informed about the Winter Storm Watch issued by the Cheyenne National Weather Service for southeast Wyoming starting Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says the I-80 Summit could see 6 to 9 inches of snow, good news considering the current fire danger, but bad news for travelers.

Looking at snow amounts of 4-8 inches for communities in the watched areas.

The Cheyenne area could see upwards of eight inches of snow Friday evening through Saturday evening, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne says.

1 to 2 feet of accumulation is possible in the higher elevations of the Snowys and Sierra Madres, while areas near the I-80 Summit could see accumulations over 6 inches.

Parts of extreme southeast Wyoming could see heavy snow this evening through Wednesday, and the Wyoming Department of Transportation is reminding drivers, "Don't Crowd the Plow!"

Cheyenne could see up to six inches of snow and Pine Bluffs up to nine inches of snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.

Interstate 80 from Cheyenne to Sidney could see up to eight inches of snow late Tuesday and Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne says.

An incoming spring storm is expected to dump more than four inches of heavy, wet snow on Laramie and drop temperatures as low as 23 degrees.

Meanwhile, a Winter Storm Watch has been posted for some areas of southeast Wyoming, including the summit on I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie.
