Cheyenne's annual fireworks show, presented by Cheyenne Frontier Days and the City of Cheyenne, will light up the skies over Frontier Park beginning at 9:35 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Frontier Park won't be open as a viewing location, but CFD spokeswoman Nicole Gamst says the show is "designed to maximize aerial displays for visibility from locations all over Cheyenne."

"Plan to enjoy the show from your own neighborhood or other open, flat areas," she said.

For those wanting to get close to Frontier Park, the north end of Lions Park will be open as normal, however, Carey Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic at 3:00 p.m. and the south end of the park will only be open to foot traffic.

"Tune in to local radio station KFBC at 1240 AM and 97.5 FM to hear the patriotic broadcast accompanying the fireworks display," said Gamst.

As a reminder, the use of consumer fireworks within city limits is not allowed on private property except for sparklers, smoke devices, and novelties.
