
Cheyenne Frontier Days Officals Say 2026 Rodeo, Night Show Attendance Up
Cheyenne Frontier Days officials say attendance for the rodeo, night shows, and gate admissions were all up this year compared to the numbers for 2025,
According to a CFD news release, ''across 10 rodeo performances, 113,787 fans attended the event, compared to 110,383 in 2025. All performances were broadcast by the Cowboy Channel. Thursday's performance celebrated the Day of the American West, in honor of the nation's 250th birthday, and the final Saturday honored the 1 National Day of the Cowboy.''
An extra day of rodeo action was added to the Frontier Days schedule this year.
CFD officials say night show attendance was up by about 10,000 people this year, with 109,861 people attending the night shows compared to 99,167 last year. Meanwhile, gate admissions showed a big jump, with 44,344 tickets sold compared to 26,060 last year.
According to the release, "The new Morning Star American Indian Village introduced visitors to native dance, art and storytelling with Northern Arapahoe and Eastern Shoshone central to the experience. Over 55,000 people visited the village in its new location."
CFD Reports Overall Attendance Increased Across The Board This Year
The release says total Cheyenne Frontier Days attendance for the just-concluded 130th Frontier Days was 283,138, compared to 249,587 last year.
The release quotes CFD General Chairman Hans Ritschard as saying, "Cheyenne Frontier Days 2026 was remarkable' said Ritschard. "Celebrating the Year of the American Indian gave us an incredible platform to honor a history and culture that's been part of this celebration since the very beginning. At the same time, we could welcome new generations of fans to the sport and traditions that we love. Our volunteers, staff, sponsors and community members once again made it all possible. We can't thank them enough."
