Fond Memories of Dolly Parton's Time in Wyoming

As everyone knows by now, beloved singer, actress, and all-around performer Dolly Parton passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80.

While Dolly didn't spend a lot of time in Wyoming, she did appear at Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1978.

So we asked our listeners on Facebook for their memories of Dolly Parton, CFD-related or otherwise.

Here are some of the responses:

John Fulk: "Her bus was parked at the north end of the track at CFD and she was still on the bus waiting for the night show. I was on horseback and wanted to see if I could see her, like any other 11 year old boy lol, so I should up on the back of the horse and could see her shadow. She gave a little wave at me. At that moment the horse decided to move quick and down I went. Dolly came off her bus to check on me and dust me off. Pretty nice lady. I wasn’t hurt, just embarrassed lol."

Lesa Kernes Spencer: "I just love her I grew up listening to music and I just wish I could have met her in person she was such a loving person and I always try to love people just as much as she did and look for the good in people."

Carolina Salas: "I had the opportunity to to serve both Dolly and Kenny Rogers while they stayed at Little America in Cheyenne, Wyoming during Frontier Days. I was about 16 yrs old and they gave a $200 tip"

Tina Lowery Korpi "I went to the show with my parents. I was young, but still remember he beautiful blonde hair. Love Dolly."
