Cheyenne Transients Hit With Felonies Following Break-In Attempt
Two Cheyenne transients are facing felony charges after they were reportedly caught on video trying to break into a vehicle.
According to arrest records, police were called to the Horse Palace at 1601 Central Ave. at about 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, for a report of two males breaking into a gold vehicle at the location.
Police say 45-year-old Gordon Samuel Hart III and 42-year-old Daylan Tait Medley were seen on video attempting to pry open the left front door of a gold Cadillac belonging to Troy Black, which they didn't have permission to touch or get inside of.
Police say the door was bent outward approximately two inches.
Hart and Medley reportedly told police they were trying to get items out of the vehicle by using a pry bar and coat hanger to unlock the vehicle.
Both were arrested and subsequently charged with felony property destruction and felony attempted burglary.
The duo made their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday morning, during which Hart's bond was set at $3,000 cash and Medley's was set at $2,000 cash and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Feb. 13 at 10 a.m.
