A 19-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly admitting to stealing more than $3,500 worth of golf clubs.

According to a booking sheet, police contacted David Lloyd Dicken at the Kingham Prairie View Golf Club at 3601 Windmill Rd. around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.

Police say Dicken was a suspect in a theft that occurred at the Airport Golf Club at 4801 Central Ave. on April 20, 2024, in which a white Titleist golf bag, a white TaylorMade golf bag, and miscellaneous golf clubs were stolen.

"The total amount stolen exceeded $3,500," Public Information Officer Alex Farkas told KGAB Radio.

Dicken was placed into custody and taken to the police department where he was interviewed and reportedly confessed to stealing the golf clubs.

Dicken was then taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on a felony theft charge, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Farkas says Dicken's accomplice has not been arrested, but the investigation is still ongoing.

UPDATE:

Dicken was charged with two counts of felony theft and made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Thursday, May 16.

His bond was set at $5,000 cash at 10% and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, May 24, at 9:45 a.m.
