The Cheyenne Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who was caught on camera stealing a pickup.

According to a department Facebook post, the theft occurred at the Maverik at 3315 N. College Dr.

"The victim parked his truck in front of the store, left a key in the ignition, and went inside to make a purchase," the post reads. "During the brief time he was inside, a man got into the truck and drove away."

Police say the thief, seen in the video below, appears to be between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9.

They say he was wearing a backpack with a gray and blue checkered jacket over it, and a flat-brim hat with a yellow bill.

Anyone who recognizes the thief is asked to call Detective Marino at 307-633-6654.
