Cheyenne Man Accused of Kicking in Man’s Door, Bloodying Him

A 31-year-old Cheyenne man is facing charges, including a felony charge, after allegedly kicking in another Cheyenne man's door and bloodying him.

Disturbance Leads to Felony Arrest

According to a booking sheet, police were called to a disturbance at Capital Greens Apartments at 940 W. College Dr. at 9:52 a.m. on Monday, April 7, and contacted David Chadwick, who they say was upset and bleeding from his head.

Police say Chadwick told them he was fixing the door that Nikko Viliamu Johnson had broken earlier when Johnson returned and kicked in the door again.

The kick reportedly forced Chadwick to fall backwards onto the floor in his apartment, where Johnson got on top of him and punched him in the head, causing injuries.

Police say Johnson doesn't live at the apartments and didn't have authority to be in Chadwick's apartment.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.

Johnson was subsequently charged with unlawful entry into an occupied structure, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, and misdemeanor property destruction.

Bond Set at $10K Cash

Johnson made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, April 11, during which his bond was set at $10,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, April 18, at 9:45 a.m.
