Trio Facing Felony Charges Following Armed Robberies in Cheyenne

Three people are facing felony charges following two armed robberies in Cheyenne.

Police Called to Armed Robbery at Snyder Food

According to police spokeswoman Alex Farkas, it all started around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, after officers were called to an armed robbery at Snyder Food at 2100 Snyder Ave.

Farkas says officers learned that a male, later identified as 27-year-old Carpenter resident Ryan Curtis McDonald, approached the clerk, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register.

"He left the store with a bank deposit bag and the clerk’s cell phone, then drove away in a blue Ford Maverick pickup," Farkas said in a news release.

"Officers searched the area and found the clerk’s phone but were unable to locate the truck," she added. "The area was secured, and surveillance video was collected."

Farkas says around 11 p.m., an officer spotted the pickup at the Walgreens at 1501 Dell Range Blvd. and contacted the driver, 48-year-old Cheyenne resident Regina Tracy Noonan, and her passenger, 29-year-old transient Sarah Kathryn Harris.

Farkas says Noonan admitted to being at Snyder Food earlier that evening, and clothing that McDonald was seen wearing during the robbery and a bank deposit bag were found inside the pickup.

Farkas says the two women were taken in for questioning, and made statements purposely misleading detectives and hindering the investigation.

"Detectives believe that they aided McDonald in fleeing the scene of the robbery and accepted money from him after," said Farkas.

"Three probable cause affidavits were sent to the District Attorney for charges related to the robbery," she added. "Warrants were later issued for the arrest of Harris, Noonan, and McDonald."

Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams signed McDonald's warrant on Friday, March 14, and Circuit Court Judge Sean C. Chambers signed Harris' and Noonan's warrants on Wednesday, March 19.

Noonan Arrested

According to a booking sheet, Noonan was arrested at her home in the 1500 block of Oak Court at 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, after an officer observed her leaving.

She was subsequently charged with accessory after the fact, a felony punishable by up to three years in prison, up to a $3,000 fine, or both.

Noonan's Bond Set at $2K Cash

On Friday, March 21, Noonan was seen in Circuit Court on the charge.

Her bond was set at $2,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m.

Police Called to Armed Robbery at C-Mart & Smoke Shop

Then, at about 10 p.m. on Friday, March 21, Farkas says officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at C-Mart & Smoke Shop at 314 Dell Range Blvd.

"Security camera footage captured a suspect matching McDonald’s description brandishing a firearm and demanding money from the register," said Farkas. "He left the store with cash, merchandise, and the clerk’s cell phone."

Farkas says officers arrived within minutes and secured the scene but were unable to locate McDonald.

McDonald and Harris Arrested

According to booking sheets, McDonald and Harris were arrested at 6 p.m. and 7:51 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday, March 25, after police contacted them near the intersection of Johnson Avenue and East 9th Street.

McDonald was subsequently charged with aggravated robbery - deadly weapon, a felony punishable by five to 25 years in prison; and felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Harris, like Noonan, was charged with felony accessory after the fact.
