19-Year-Old Cheyenne Man Accused of Pulling Knife on Neighbor
A 19-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly pulling a knife on his neighbor.
Disturbance With Knife Leads to Arrest
According to a booking sheet, Trace Aaron Thomas was arrested at 9:53 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy responding to a disturbance involving a knife at Thomas' apartment spotted him walking seven blocks west of his apartment.

The deputy says Thomas said he was playing a video game and became verbally animated with the game, when a female neighbor, who was in his apartment visiting with his mother, began shouting at him and told him to cooperate with his mother.
Thomas said he got into a verbal argument with his neighbor before deciding to leave his apartment and go for a walk, and she told him he should get out, which made him feel threatened.
Thomas said he believed the neighbor was going to physically harm him, so he pulled a pocket knife out of his pocket and pointed it at her, then left his apartment and started walking.
The deputy says Thomas voluntarily provided them with the knife he used during the incident and confirmed it was the same knife.
Thomas' neighbor reportedly told the sergeant who was first to arrive on the scene, that she was visiting Thomas' mother when Thomas began yelling.
She said Thomas' mother approached him about the yelling and she felt he was being disrespectful to his mother, so she began yelling at him about his treatment of his mother and he became angry.
She said Thomas attempted to leave the apartment and she encouraged his decision.
She said she was sitting on the couch in the living room while Thomas was getting ready to leave when he pulled out a knife and pointed it at her in a manner in which she felt threatened.
Thomas Charged With Aggravated Assault
Thomas was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Bond Set at $2,500 Cash
Thomas made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Jan. 22, during which his bond was set at $2,500 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
