Cheyenne Man Accused of Strangling Father-In-Law Posts Bond
A 23-year-old Cheyenne man who was arrested and charged after reportedly getting into a verbal argument with his wife and then strangling her father has been released on bond.
According to a booking sheet, Elias Nathaniel Dodson was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, after police were dispatched to a physical domestic call.
Police say Dodson's wife told them that she and Dodson got into a verbal argument in the kitchen, then left the residence and went to her vehicle to talk in private, where the argument continued.
Dodson's wife said during the argument, Dodson grabbed her face in the cheek area and told her to be quiet.
She said when the two went back to the house and Dodson walked through the front door, her father was standing in the same area, and Dodson and her father got into a verbal argument which turned physical with Dodson placing his arm around her father's neck.
Dodson's father-in-law reportedly told police that during that time he couldn't breathe, and he fought back to get Dodson off of him.
Dodson was subsequently charged with domestic battery, strangulation, and unlawful contact.
He is currently out of jail on a $3,000 at 10% bond and is scheduled to be back in Laramie County Circuit Court next Wednesday, Dec. 27, for his preliminary hearing.
