UPDATE; Cheyenne Police spokeswoman Alex Farkas says streets that had closed because of the leak have now reopened.

UPDATE: Black Hills Energy released a statement around 1 p.m. which included the following:

October 29, 2024 – Black Hills Energy crews responded to a damaged natural gas line near 4800 Converse Avenue in Cheyenne today, which impacted approximately 16 customers. Crews worked with emergency response agencies to secure the area and are repairing the line. The City of Cheyenne Fire Department initiated road closures in the immediate area. Black Hills Energy will complete the repair and relight affected natural gas service customers

Cheyenne Fire Rescue has posted the following on their Facebook Page:

*** Road Closed King Arthur and Converse ***
Please take an alternative route. Gas leak on King Arthur and Converse, road is closed in both directions.
