
Cheyenne Fire Rescue, Emergency Management, Warren AFB To Hold Fire Meeting
Cheyenne Fire Rescue, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Laramie County Fire Authority and Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management have announced a meeting this week on prescribed burns slated tor later in April on the base.
The meeting is informational according to a news release. It will be held at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. The Public Safety Center is located at 415 W. 18th Street.

Base personnel and Cheyenne/Laramie County residents are invited to attend. It may be of special interest to residents of the Western Hills North area and those who live near the northeast perimeter of F.E. Warren.
Prescribed Burns to Start April 12
According to the release:
"The meeting will provide an overview of the planned prescribed fire burns occurring April 12–25, 2026, in the northeast area of the base and on the South Side at the Civil Engineer compost yard. Operations are scheduled daily from 0700 to 1700.
During the public meeting, fire personnel and emergency management personnel will explain the purpose of these controlled burns, which play a critical role in maintaining ecological health, reducing the risk of uncontrolled wildfires, and strengthening the safety and resilience of both F.E. Warren AFB and the surrounding neighborhoods and community."
