One Cheyenne man is dead and another behind bars following a suspected DUI crash in east Cheyenne late Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of East Lincolnway and Western Way.

According to police spokeswoman Alex Farkas, 29-year-old Oliver Curtis Birt was headed southwest on East Lincolnway in a white pickup when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Western Way and collided with an oncoming blue Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
"The rider, a 69-year-old male, sustained life-threatening injuries at the scene and was later pronounced deceased at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center," said Farkas, "The Laramie County Coroner will identify the victim and notify the next of kin."
Farkas says Birt was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for aggravated vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and failure to yield while turning left.
"Due to the severity of the crash, the Cheyenne Police Department’s Major Crash Unit responded to take over the investigation," said Farkas.
