A fire that destroyed a residential building under construction in south Cheyenne last month is believed to have been set intentionally, police said Friday.

Cheyenne Fire Rescue says firefighters were called to the scene in the 1500 block of Richard Martin Drive at 6:21 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26.

CFR says the heat generated by the fire created many challenges and caused damage to three other residential buildings also under construction.

"Damage to the building, neighboring properties, and equipment is estimated to be over $300,000," police spokeswoman Alex Farkas said.
