The vest is being sponsored by New Jersey resident Sharysse Frasco, according to the post. It will be embroidered with the phrase “Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always”

The vest is expected to arrive within the next 10 weeks or so.

According to the post "Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations."

The post says there are about 30,000 K9 officers serving with law enforcement agencies across the country.

Cheyenne Police K9s Currently All Have Protective Vests

Cheyenne PD spokeswoman Alex Farkas says there are currently four K9 Officers serving with the Cheyenne Police Department, all of which have protective armor. A post in the comments section of the Facebook post says Uzi is the newest member of the K9 team, and is using a retired dog's vest until she is old enough to be measured for her own.
