If you can't find a decent hotel during Cheyenne Frontier Days, here's a more rustic option. A guy on Airbnb is renting out a sheep wagon in his back yard for $250 a night (plus taxes and a "cleaning fee").

The repurposed sheep wagon turned tiny house has one full-sized bed and can accommodate two guests. Although it doesn't have a bathroom, it does have wifi and visitors have access to a restroom inside the house, which is occupied by the renter. And while you probably won't be able to ride the wooden pony outside, the western-themed decor allows guests to "live like a cowboy for a night".

The sheep wagon is one of several unique Airbnb listings in the area. Other vacation rentals range from private rooms inside houses for around $100 per night, entire apartments and houses for up to $400 per night, and the recently renovated loft above the Lincoln Theatre downtown, which rents for $300 a night during CFD.

Hotels in the area fill up fast during Cheyenne Frontier Days, with several of the few remaining rooms commanding over $300 a night. Less expensive options along Interstate 80 and Lincolnway have struck fear into the hearts of even the most hardened travelers. The most hilarious and disgusting reviews usually begin the same way, "I came for Cheyenne Frontier Days and it was the last room in town."
