Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced four individuals for crimes including fraud, drugs and child pornography, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced  Kiara Nicole Hall, 20, of Mount Morris, Mich., for wire fraud. Hall was arrested in Rawlins. She received one year, three months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. Johnson ordered her to pay a $100 special assessment and $14,138.32 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the Rock Springs Police Department, the Cheyenne Police Department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities arrested Hall, Zawntakia Kemp and Desiray Toins on Interstate 80 on July 15 after receiving a report they allegedly were involved in a fraud at the Walmart in Rock Springs. The case started at a Walmart in Cheyenne earlier that day when they tricked an employee to ring up 28 $500 gift cards worth $14,138.32 (the cost of the cards plus fees). Toins is awaiting trial. The progress of Kemp's case is unknown.

Johnson sentenced Daniel Scott Clark, 58, for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine. Clark was arrested in Gillette. He received 10 years of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of probation. Johnson ordered him to pay a $100 special assessment and $400 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

Johnson also sentenced Julie Ann Crosby, 44, of Glendale, Ariz., for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. She received two years of imprisonment, to be followed by two years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and $400.00 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the DCI and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Thomas Murray Morstad, 67, of Lander, for possession of child pornography. He received five years of probation and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment. Restitution in this matter will be determined at a later date.

This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
