46-Year-Old Cheyenne Man Gets Federal Prison On Drug, Weapons Charges
A 46-Year-old Cheyenne man has been sentenced to federal prison on drug trafficking and weapons charges that grew out of a traffic stop by Cheyenne Police.
That's according to the Cheyenne Police Department via Facebook and a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for Wyoming.
Case Grew Out Of A Traffic Stop
The Facebook post says Cheyenne Police stopped Salvador Collard of Cheyenne on Sept. 2, 2025 for a traffic violation. Police say he was acting erratically and didn't follow police commands, behavior that led to a search of his vehicle. The search turned up "large quantities of fentanyl pills and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, cash, and distribution-related items." The post says officers also found loaded firearms, including a handgun and a shotgun along with ammunition. Collard was a convicted felon and could not legally possess firearms.

A search warrant was served at Collard's home, turning up more drug trafficking items and ammunition matching the guns found in Collard's vehicle.
Sentence Handed Down Last Week
According to the U.S. Attorney news release "A complaint was filed on Oct. 7, 2025, and he pleaded guilty on Feb 9, 2026. U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl imposed the sentence on April 3 in Casper."
Collard was sentenced to 120 months’ imprisonment with ten years of supervised release.
