Wanted Cheyenne Transient Caught With Meth
A 38-year-old Cheyenne transient who was being sought on a Laramie County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of misdemeanor drug possession is now facing a felony drug possession charge.
According to a booking sheet, police spotted Brandon Christopher Serini sitting next to a bicycle in front of 415 W. 17th Street shortly before 9 o'clock last Thursday night, Oct. 5, and, knowing he had a warrant, initiated a field interview.
Police say the bicycle, which Serini said was his, had a backpack wrapped around the seat, and Serini was advised that the backpack would be logged into evidence for safekeeping, which he acknowledged.
Serini was arrested on the warrant, which was signed by Judge Thomas Lee on Sept. 13, 2023, and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center for booking.
While at the jail, an officer performing an inventory search on Serini's backpack reportedly found 23.94 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Serini was subsequently charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.
Serini made his initial court appearance on the charge on Friday, Oct. 6, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.
His status hearing on the warrant was also scheduled for the same date.
