It may be late tonight before High West Energy gets power restored to some 500 Laramie County residential customers.

High West spokeswoman Lorrell Walter says crews have been out since early this morning, but the weather is preventing them from making any progress.

"Snow drifts are three feet tall in some places," said Walter. "For the safety of the line crew, they have been called in temporarily."

Walter says customers should anticipate a lengthy outage and dress in several layers to stay warm.

She also encourages people to check on any elderly neighbors to make sure they are safe.

Walter says as soon as conditions permit, crews will head back out and try to get the power restored.
