Officers convinced a suicidal man not to jump off the state parking garage in Cheyenne Wednesday morning.

"We got the call at about 7 a.m.," said Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta. "We were out there with him for about an hour-and-a-half until we talked him down, but no injuries or anything like that."

Malatesta didn't know whether the man was from Cheyenne, or what might have triggered his suicidal thoughts.

The parking garage was closed for a short time while law enforcement officers handled the incident.
