Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne Gifted New Wheels After Van Break-In
What started out as a bad week for Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne has turned around, thanks to one generous donor in particular.
After hearing the news that the nonprofit's van, affectionally known as the Billboard, was broken into and damaged over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, ANB Bank stepped in to help.
On Wednesday, the bank handed over the keys to a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse to Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne Executive Director Stephanie Freeman.
"We’re overwhelmed by the support from our community and ANB Bank," Freeman said in a press release.
"Our week started out terribly, but it has definitely turned around," Freeman added. "This is proof that hard times do not last and that we truly do live in the most generous community."
Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne says its first order of business will be transforming the new set of wheels into Santa's sleigh, which will be used to carry all of its clients' special holiday gift bags for delivery in the coming weeks.
"We are so excited that the Chevy Traverse has found a new home at Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne," said ANB Bank President Lori Schoene.
"We appreciate everything Meals on Wheels does for the Cheyenne community and are excited that we could give this vehicle to the organization,” Schoene added.
