Laramie County law enforcement agencies will honor and remember those Wyoming officers who made the ultimate sacrifice during a memorial ceremony Friday, May 17.

The ceremony, which coincides with National Police Week, will be held in the Wyoming State Museum, located at 2301 Central Avenue, at 6 p.m.

"This memorial ceremony allows Wyoming law enforcement officers and their families to participate in a local event that mirrors the national ceremonies being held this week in Washington, D.C.," said Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta.

Over 60 Wyoming peace officers have been lost in the line of duty.
