A convicted rapist wanted out of Queens, New York for parole violation was arrested at a hotel in Cheyenne Wednesday morning.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to the Comfort Inn & Suites at 201 W. Fox Farm Rd. at 10:12 a.m. for a report of a wanted individual.

Police contacted the individual, 35-year-old Queens Village, New York resident James Moye, in room 417, and he was subsequently taken into custody on an extraditable warrant and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services' Sex Offender Registry, Moye raped a woman he knew on Dec. 9, 2007.

He was convicted of first-degree rape on March 10, 2008, and sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
