Heavy Rain, Flooding Expected In SE Wyoming Starting Friday
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain in southeast Wyoming starting on Friday and continuing into early next week.
The agency posted the following statement on its website on Friday:
Rain chances are back today and into the weekend. Thunderstorms are possible today. Heavy rain is expected by Friday and will be continuing through the weekend and possibly into the beginning of the week. With this in mind, area rivers and streams will be on the rise, and fast flows may be possible. Especially to the west where a significant snowpack remains above 9000 feet. A River Flood Warning has already been issued for the North Platte River at Saratoga. For those in the Laramie and Upper North Platte Basins, please be aware of your surroundings as the wet pattern continues. To the east, low lying areas may be covered in water at times. Remember to TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN if water is covering roads.
