A wet weekend is expected in southeast Wyoming, which could worsen the flooding.

The Peterson family on Darnell Place went to bed on Monday night thinking Tuesday would be just another day.

One resident told Townsquare Media that her family is "devastated and scared." She says they are saddened that they "haven't had much help from the city."

One area resident told Townsquare Media that the damage to her family's home has been estimated at $80,000, and she says their insurance won't cover the cost of the damage.

Ben Peterson, who lives in the area, said the ''Water is up to the basement ceiling" in some houses.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for parts of Albany and Laramie counties in Wyoming and Kimball County in Nebraska. The watch remains in effect until 6 a.m. on Saturday. The agency posted the following on its website: ''There is a flood watch in effect from Friday to Saturday morning for portions of Albany, Laramie, and Kimball counties...
