Despite Cooler Weather SE Wyoming Fire Danger Remains High
Even though cooler weather and even a few showers are expected in southeastern Wyoming for Thursday, the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says the fire danger across the region remains extremely high, with a ''Red Flag Warning" in effect for Thursday afternoon.
The service has issued the following statement for Thursday, Spt. 20:
"430 AM MDT Thursday, September 20 – Patchy fog and a few morning showers will dissipate this morning, giving way to another warm, dry and breezy afternoon across southeast Wyoming. The result will be another round of dangerous fire weather conditions, with potential for any existing or new fires to spread rapidly. Burning of any kind is STRONGLY discouraged!''
