Cheyenne Transient Charged With Burglary, Felony Drug Possession
A 36-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing felony charges after Cheyenne police say they caught him with prescription opioids while arresting him for burglary.
According to booking sheets, Ronald Jerome McNeill Jr. was arrested at 9:47 p.m. on July 26, 2024, after police were dispatched to a field contact at the Ames underpass.
Police say McNeill had a probable cause affidavit for burglary which was written earlier that day.
Search Leads to Vicodin, Felony Charges
When police searched McNeill, he reportedly had six grams of suspected Vicodin on him which he was unable to provide a prescription for.
McNeill was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with three felonies, including burglary and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Felony Charges Lead to Warrant Being Issued
On July 29, 2024, McNeill was issued a warrant for failing to comply with his bond conditions in two misdemeanor cases. The warrant was signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee.
McNeill was seen on the felony charges and the warrant that same morning.
His total bond was set at $2,500 cash and his preliminary and bond revocation hearings were scheduled for Aug. 7, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
