A 37-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing several items, including a minivan and a firearm.

According to booking sheets, police stopped Frank Jay Hardy Jr. at the intersection of West 19th Street and Missile Drive around 7 a.m. on Monday, April 22 for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest

Police say they recognized the minivan Hardy was driving, a blue Honda Odyssey, as one that was reported stolen during the night.

Police say Hardy was unable to explain his possession of the minivan.

Hardy was also reportedly found to be in possession of a stolen firearm, which was stored under the driver's seat.

Hardy was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on two counts of felony theft.

Video of Vehicle Burglary Leads to Hardy

Around 5 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary at 715 W. 31st Street.

Police say the reporting person said at 6:50 a.m. his silver Subaru Outback was broken into and several items were stolen.

Police say the victim had video of the incident, which showed a male wearing the same clothes and shoes as Hardy was wearing when he was arrested.

Police say they spoke to Hardy at the jail, but he said he didn't remember entering the Outback and stealing items.

Hardy was subsequently booked on a felony burglary charge.

Hardy is scheduled to make his initial appearance in front of Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams at 10:15 a.m. tomorrow, April 24.

APRIL 24 UPDATE:

Hardy was seen Wednesday morning on three counts of felony theft and one count of felony burglary.
