Man Arrested After Falling Asleep in Stolen Vehicle in Cheyenne
A 34-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony charge after police say they found him asleep behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle.
According to a booking sheet, it all started around 8:30 a.m. on July 7, 2024, after police were called to 5161 Roundtop Dr. for a report of a stolen vehicle.
Police say the victim provided information about her stolen vehicle being on Starlink, and the vehicle was located at 1508 S. Greeley Hwy. #33.
Police say Amos Juan Mora Jr. was found asleep in the vehicle in the driver's seat.
Cheyenne Transient Charged With Felony Theft, Misdemeanor Possession of Fentanyl
Mora was arrested and subsequently charged with felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, and misdemeanor possession of fentanyl.
Mora made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on July 9, 2024, during which his bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 17, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
